Using Art to Accelerate Global Attention on Women’s Human Rights

Clare’s project will engage a new world-wide audience of young women and men in activism around the critical issue of maternal health via a vibrant, creative global online exhibition. As a child Clare was deeply inspired by her grandmother who tackled many social barriers to become one of the first women to study at a British University. Her life, and her deep interest in women’s advancement and empowerment, showed Clare that women have capacities and talents that too often go unexpressed or unfulfilled. As Executive Director of the International Museum of Women, and with a personal passion for arts, culture and media, Clare is dedicated to creating social change that will draw global attention to the lack of progress in meeting the Millennium Development goals on gender equity.
